Once On This Island

Date: September 22, 2013
Showtimes: 3pm, 6pm (running time of 90 minutes)

Once On This Island, one of the most beautiful and engaging productions ever to hit the Broadway Stage, was the brainchild of ‘Ragtime’ creators, Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens. Its broad sweeping success garnered the team a Tony Award and set Color Purple star “LaChanze” on her way. Set on a fictional island in the Antilles, Once On This Island tells the mythical tale of a beautiful orphan girl named TiMoune and her quest to find the meaning of love. Its infectious musical score, combined with heart pounding dance numbers has made it an American Classic, to be produced in Professional Playhouses across the globe.

They Call Me Q!

Date: TBD

A must see! Proclaimed “A Theatrical Force” by the Orlando Weekly for her uncanny embodiment of 13(!) characters, award-winning actress Qurrat Ann Kadwani searches for identity in They Call Me Q! an autobiographical one-woman show. This emotionally affecting tour-de-force is fueled by her “remarkable ear for vocal mimicry.” A coming of age tale, that the Montreal Gazette says is “witty, polished, inspiring,” They Call Me Q! entertains with tremendous humor and compelling emotion with stating it is “a jazzy gem, in the ranks of John Leguizamo, Spalding Gray, Camryn Manheim.” Through the character of Q, Ms. Kadwani gives voice to all the universal struggles for identity and self-understanding that are experienced by immigrants of all nationalities. Charlebois Post wrote, “Highly entertaining and engaging. Kadwani’s amazing presence and delivery definitely makes her a force to be reckoned with.” Best Play Award Winner 2013 Maui Fringe Festival. Best Actress Award Winner 2012 Variatons Theatre Group Festival NYC.
*Appropriate for audiences over 13 years old.
